Who Is Rich Lord?

I am a Yorkshireman with a background working in the public sector for the best part of two decades – both locally for an Out Of Hours GP service and then nationally for NHS Digital working on national data sets and data collections, with experience in the private sector prior to that.

After I took voluntary redundancy, I enjoyed the opportunity to have a rest, take a reset, and get myself ready for the next chapters in my working life. I am now working for a local authority in Business Change.

See here for my experience in the workplace and sporting arena.

I am a runner and I am the joint-founder of Carleton Running Community in Pontefract, West Yorkshire. Our group focuses on social running and encouraging runners and new runners to visualise the possible and to see the growth that comes from that.

As an experienced runner with 7 marathons under my belt, and well over 100 races completed, I enjoy seeing others achieve new goals and targets like I have done within this time too. For more info about the Club, please visit this link

As a keen sports supporter, I have an eye on most sports, though mostly have focused on football and rugby league. I follow Aston Villa, Wakefield Trinity, Pontefract Collieries, and Wakefield AFC. I also go and watch Pontefract RU every now and again.

So what can you tell me about your four main sections of this website?

CHAT

I like podcasting and have created my own RICH LORD CHATS podcast where I featured music and news from every year since my birth way back in 1975.

This year, I am launching a video format for YouTube as well as audio for Spotify. In this I shall share my thoughts and wisdom in short segments, and also look to learn from others with short interviews to hear about their experiences too. It’s good to listen!

I have also coordinated and produced several episodes of the Carleton Running Community podcast where we feature runners from the club, their experiences, what they have learnt and want to share with the world.

You can find links to all these podcasts on my Podcasts page.

SOCIAL

I have been a blogger for over a decade now, and whilst I have archived many of my posts, I have my most recent blog posts here. I write about topics of interest that inspire me and motivate me. I write about sport and news, without being political and polemic – that does no-one anyone good being tribal. I write about my running career and what I have learnt through that.

As an extension of my blogging, I ended up writing a couple of best-selling books ‘Rebuilding The Machine: The New You Is Already Within You’ and ‘Smiles Through The Miles’ that went to Number One on the Hot New Releases chart on Amazon. You can access the links for these at my Shops page. I have sold several hundred books and e-books and am planning my next book for Winter 2024 - Spring 2025.

PM

I have a separate stand-alone website RICH LORD - PM dedicated to Project Management.

In my spare time I have been always connected to community groups and am considered influential and an expert in recruiting new members, selling benefits of joining, and also using my business background to smooth out processes and identifying growth opportunities using technology and making the best use of resources, and demonstrating that the human side of selling, recruiting, retaining and entertaining is key.

My specialities and interests outside of work are doing what I can to help others, be it through coaching, through providing business advice, or being there for other people. We all benefit from hearing other people, reading the works of experts, watching what others have been through. I have a desire to help others tell their story, for me to learn from others, to soak up the knowledge from others that can help me and others, and to continue with the lifelong learning that I subscribe to.

If you think I can be of help to you, your organisation or business, please do get in touch.
